Installing SQL Server 2005 SP2

Hello,
We are running SQL Server 2005 SP1 Developer Edition x64 on Windows 2003
Server R2 x64. We have setup transactional replication. The same instance
has the Distributor and Subscriber, and another instance has the Publisher.
The readme for SP2 says to upgrade the Distributor, Publisher and then the
Subscribers. Will we have any problems since the same instance is acting as
the Distributor and Subscriber? Which instance should we upgrade first?

Interesting question. I guess you'll have to do the dist/subs first then the
publisher as this is the nearest to the published expectations. Be nice for
BOL to be updated with clarification for this type of case - I'll put in a
BOL feedback.

Installing SQL Server 2005 on Windows XP Pro x64

On MSDN, I have downloaded "SQL Server 2005 CTP - September 2005 - Enterprise Edition - 64-bit Extended - Servers (English)" that I am trying to install on WinXP Pro x64 (EMT64 machine).
Unfortunately, I am not able to install SQLSRV2005, indeed during the setup the option such as "SQL Server Database Services" are grayed (i.e. not clickable, idem for Analysis Services). The only thing that I can select is "Workstation components".
Is it possible to use SQL Server 2005 on a WinXP x64 OS ?

Enterprise Edition isn't supported on WinXP. Please see the following link for system requirements:

i am using "XP Pro x64 Version 5.2.3790 Serivce Pack 1 Build 3790" Operating system. I had tried installing SQL Server 2005.

Unfortunatelly i ended up with this error

The setup has encountered an unexpected error in datastore. The action is SetInstanceProperty. The error is: Source File Name: datastore\propertyid.h

The suggestion from our devs is that you might be running both a x64 and an x86 installation at the same time. Can you check that out? Look at taskmanager for "setup.exe". If more than one are running, try killing the extras. Then run just the x64 installer.

Can you please provide me the a link or a sample where i get all the steps involved in installing SQl server on "XP Pro x64 Version 5.2.3790 Serivce Pack 1 "|||Please provide me the guidelines for installing SQL Server 2005 x-64 bit version.
