Installing SQL Server 2005 on Vista Business

I've been attempting to install SQL 2005 Standar on my Vista Business laptop. I am able to install all the components except for Reporting Services - the checkbox for it is disabled. I have installed/activated IIS, so I don't know why this option is still unavailable to me. Can anyone assist me?

Installing Sql Server 2005 Enterprise on Windows XP pro

I am trying to install 2005 sql server enterprise edition on windows xp pro, When I get to the part where you pick which components to add, they are all grayed out except for workstation components and books. What did I do wrong?

You cant install enterprise edition on XP Pro (or 2000 Pro), it must be installed on Windows Server.

If you want the features of Enterprise Edition for R&D, you need to install Developer Edition. Otherwise Express Edition or MSDE will also work on workstation platforms.

The reason the workstation components are available, is that XP Pro (like Windows 2000 Pro) is a workstation, and this option will allow you to install tools such as the SQL Management Studio, Books Online etc.

How can I install the server and client components for SQL Server Reporting
Services? Where are the install files located?It's all a part of one setup CD. Depending on which prerequisites have
installed on the target machine, you'll be given options on components to
install.

installing SQL 2000 server client side components

Hi
I would like to install client side components of SQL 2000 server on a
server with Windows 2003 Web Edition. i have tried, but it will not. the
setup just exits. is this installation possible?
Note: ONLY client side components (the ultimate end is to install SQLXML 3.0
SP1; is this possible on server 2003 web edition?).

JasonThe only edition that is supported on Web Edition is MSDE which does not
come with client tools. You will not be able to install the SQL Server
client tools on Web Edition. I don't think SQLXML 3 can be installed on web
edition at this time, which is a shame.

Installing SQL

I get the message:

Sql Server 2005 Setup has detected incompatible components from beta versions of Visual Studio, .Net Framework, or Sql Server 2005. Use Add or Remove Programs to remove these components, and then run SQL Server 2005 again.

I have run the program vs_uninst_betas.exe but this did not help.

go in the ADD/REMOVE Programs in the control panel and install every beta product which used .NET 2.0 beta like SQL Server 2005 beta 1/2/3 , Yukon, VS Express, VS Net etc. and/or additionally the -NET Framework package by itself.
