I'm working on an SQL 2k5 / SP2 server and need to install SSIS.
Can this be done without uninstalling SQL?

I don't understand the question. SSIS is bundled with SQL Server 2005. So, yes, you can install it. Just select it from the installation media.Hi,
I have installed sql sp2 after finished core installation. I thought that it would deploys to node 2 as well (I did it on node 1) but when i tried to shutdown node 1 the clusters will be on node2, I could not to use MS management studio that including sp2 on node2. Why? What should I do?
Please answers me asap.

You have to install SP2 on each node of the cluster.
It does not 'automagically' install on additional nodes after you install it on one node.

I've installed Windows 2003 SP2 in a stand-alone cluster (will be adding a second node later). I'm now installing SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition 64-bit extended and would like to have the "Create a SQL Server Failover Cluster" box to not be grayed out. Even when I check the "SQL Server Database Services" box, it still has the cluster box grayed out.
Any idea's?

As per usual, SQL 2005 seems to install with more success when you copy the cabs local to the machine, and then run setup (versus over the network).thank anyways Arnie.During the installtion of SQL Server 2005 (Win2k3 SP2) the msxml setup fail. When i try to install manually the msxml i get the error "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation". I'm the machine administrator.
Someone can help me?

i get the same problem on windows xp. i still dont know how to solve this. with all the changes i have made to the registery to try and get this right. i am thankful the registery still works. lol. have you had any luck in finding an answer?

On my computer, XP SP2, VB 2005 Express and VisualWeb 2005 Express are installed.
SQL 2005 Server express was also automatically installed in the same time.
I want to complete this SQL SERVER EXPRESS Installation, by downloading complements;
No problem to install SQL Server Management Studio
but problem occurs :
I downloaded SQLEXPR_ADV_FRN.EXE (Version : 0.0.0.0)
When I want to install it, I have a first box Extracting Files with :
Extracting Files :setup\sqlrun_rs.msi
To Directory ;i:\8eefbf891116a71dbc7190cceb05b9
(I don’t know why it wants to install in this partition !!!!)
Then an error box :
Extraction Failed
File is corrupt
I had same issue when I tried to install SQLEXPR_TOOLKIT_FRN.EXE
Can anyone explain me how to resolve these issues ?

try to disable your AV software when running the setup and see what happens.
Are you able to download the ISO image and burning it to CD for example, or mounting it to a virtual CD, and installing it from that?
|||I disabled my AV, but I got the same messages.
I didn't find the right place where i can download the ISO images for these two files.
If you know the way to reach them, it would be fine.
