Instance Uniunstall problem with "Uninst.isu" file

I am attempting to uninstall an instance of SQL Server 2000. When I run the SS2000 "change/uninstall" process in "Add/Remove Programs" (Control Panel), I get an error message stating that ...

"Unable to locate the installation log file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\....\Uninst.isu Uninstallation will not continue."

I have looked in the directory and the file is not there.How do I uninstall SS2000?

I am facing the same problem in fact I have manually removed all traces of sql server 2000 in program files. It is still exisiting in add/remove programs. How to remove it from there.

Do I need to to uninstall SQLServer2K before installing SQLServer 2k5 ?
What steps should be taken before and after SQL Server 2K5 installation?

You should be able to install SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2000 side
by side.
I think you may need SP2 of XP Pro.
One important thing to watch out for is any old components left behind
by past builds of SQL Server 2005 or Visual Studio 2005. If they are
present you need to uninstall CAREFULLY and in the right order or you
can expect to hit problems.

by side.

Installing Visual Web Dev. 2005 Express: Must uninstall ANY previous versions of SQL Server

According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vwd/download/, I have to uninstall any and all versions of SQL before I attempt to install the VWD 2005 express edition. is there a work around this? I currently have SQL 2000 installed for my work; a must have for me, I can't just uninstall it.
(yes I left a similar question in the Visual forums, but haven't received any replies as of yet..just fishing for an answer here)

That warning was intended to have users remove any and all previous Betas of SQL Server 2005 prior to installing VWD Express.

It's okay to have MSDE or SQL 2000 on your box, or even to have SQL Server 2005 on your box. But if you have any of the SQL Server 2005 Betas or CTP installs, please remove them first.

If I want to install Standard 2005 onto a server that currently has
Enterprise 2000:
1. Will it lead to problems?
2. Do I have to do a full UNINSTALL of Enterprise 2000?
3. Is it a BAD IDEA?

Nope. For a clean sql install you can uninstall 2000 and then install 2005.
