Installing SQL Express when you've been a good little drone!!!

So I keep up with what MS are doing, it's my job.

I download the beta versions to have a look.

Then I try to install SQL Express an it tells me I have the remains of beta versions.

I look in A&R no signs of the beta version left.

What can I do?

Looks like I'll be Mygrating to MySQL.

Why do I feel like MS is always taking PESH!!!

You will have to remove all existance of beta components like it is mentioned on the site:

2.

Uninstall beta versions

Before you install any members of the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition family, you must uninstall any previous Beta, CTP or Tech Preview versions of SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, and the .NET Framework 2.0.

Installing Sql CE 2.0

Hi All,

I'm facing a problem while installing SQL CE 2.0 on my Desktop PC. It tells that the system must be installed with service pack 1 or higher for SQL Server 2000. I have installed service pack 3a and tried again. But then also i'm getting the same error message. Can anybody help me on this problem.

thanks in advance.

SQL CE 2.0 is for devices and is not supported on DESKTOP! (and was never even designed). If you want to have a DESKTOP version of it, please use this:http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=898913&SiteID=1

Thanks,

Laxmi

Installing SQL 2005 Beta

I am having a problem install the software, it tells me the install is
already running, or it gets hung on checking IIS.
Any help available.
Thanks
DeeWhy do you want to install the BETA ? This is not recommended, though
there is a RTM available ?!
HTH, jens Suessmeyer.|||I think installing the beta once RTM is available violates the EULA. Why on
earth would you want the beta software?
